Old School Boston Athlete of the Day

So 3's TOIN post yesterday got me thinking...we should do an old school Beantown Boston Athlete of the Day (mouthful right)...Well todays first athlete is none other than my boy Ty Law

Ty was a stalwart in the defensive backfield during the Pat's 3 superbowl runs. The man was a menace. I don't know what it was about Ty that made us love him so much. Was it his Deion Sanderesque image? His unreal celebrations after picking a pass off for a TD? Or the fact that every time he made a big play the PA System would belt the Clash's hit "I Fought the Law and the Law one? Perhaps it was just the fact that Ty was a true Patriot. Laying a fucker out, standing over him, and letting you know he and his boys were gunna be there all day. Salute to you Ty, we miss you.

PS. Thanks again for gracing us with this Manning face over and over again.
Thanks Colin for the tip.

Top 10 Things to Do If There is No NFL Season in 2011

As soon as midnight strikes tonight those pompous NFL owners, and Selfish NFL players will most likely not have an agreement in place for a new CBA and a new NFL season. So what can we do instead? Well...I Know I'd probably cry for 3 weks straight but then I'd refer to this list to fill the void.

10. CFL- Ya that's right there's a profesional football league up north and it's called the CFL. They have goalposts in the fornt of the endzones, a larger field, running starts, and plays where you can punt the ball back and forth...sounds pretty sweet to me.

9. Actually watch the MLB playoffs- We could all pay a little more attention to the MLB playoffs I guess...I mean at least to get us through to when Basketball starts again.

8. UFL- United Football League could suffice. Although theres only six teams there are still a good amount of former players in there, and the quality is still pretty solid. Plus anytime Maurice Clarrett is involved I'm game.

7. NASCAR-Isn't that chase for the trophy thingy then? Sweet, lets go Rusty Wallace!

6. MLS Playoffs-Major League Soccer playoffs...I mean it could be sweet, everyone gets behind these ragtag players who earn nearly 30,000 a year...3 could be playing there some day so I had to mention it...

5. Start watching Survivor again-Yes sir, I hear season 32 will be a good one.

4. Actually take Sunday for a holy day and go to 1130 mass because there won't be any games to interfere with-This one's for my mom...love you mom...(no movie here come on people).

3. Rugby World Cup 2011-USA is in this one and it could be a good watch. Might get ome television time too if the NFL ain't on.

2. English Premeire League-For real though, grab a pint on sundays and pick a favorite squad. All the games are sundays and saturdays so should fil lthe void pretty nicely, not to mention always is a good time at the pub.

1. College Football-When did the NFL start thinking it actually was the best football out there? Let's be honest this country love it's collegians first and good news people: they're still here. Get behind your school and let's go win ourselves an ACC Championship, without throwing 700 interceptions and actually scoring an offensive touchdown! Oh that's just BC? Ok, go college football.
