You want to know how you get shit done around here? Go straight to the top. None of this middle man crap where you email one guy, who refers you to another, who puts you on hold, takes your mother out to dinner and then tells you there's nothing he can do for you. You go straight to the top. The Scenes gets things done. Am I going to tell you we're a pretty big deal? Yeah, I guess I am. As you know, we're arguably the biggest Boston College basketball fans this side of the Green Line. We sat front row at every game, dressed like absolute idiots and got a little love from Neil Everett on Sports Center. Problem is, there's only about 12 BC student basketball fans. We'd love to change that. What's one to do when a change needs to be made with the culture of basketball at Boston College? Go straight to the top. How does a 1 on 1 meeting with Head Coach Steve Donahue sound? That's right. 10 o'clock this morning The Scenes crew made a nice little trip to the 2nd floor of Conte Forum. Big East trophies filled the foyer and Tyrese Rice and Jared Dudley lined the walls. We were greeted by Coach D and his assistants. Coach wanted to know our opinions, OUR thoughts, about how to better the basketball culture at BC. After a good half hour of conversation Coach dropped us his cell phone number and email and urged us to stay in touch and said he would like to work closely with us to start creating some unbelievable scenes (see what I did there) on the basketball court in Conte. I don't want to devulge too much of what the conversation entailed, but all I know is changes are coming and The Scenes is behind them. Stay tuned.

What. The. Fuck.
Little Brother Rises Up
LOS ANGELES -- Doctors say a San Francisco Giants fan who was beaten and badly injured at Dodger Stadium is showing signs of brain damage and remains in critical condition. A Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center neurosurgeon said Tuesday that Bryan Stow of Santa Cruz suffered a severe skull fracture and bad bruising to his frontal lobe. Dr. Gabriel Zada said Stow remains in a coma and that he's showing signs of "brain injury and dysfunction." Meanwhile, Los Angeles Police Det. Jose Carrillo said investigators are checking an unconfirmed report that three men in Giants gear were struck by the same attackers before Stow was knocked to the ground and hit his head on the pavement.
Classic case of the little brother rising up and taking a wack at the big brother. The Dodgers suck and what better way to get back at the World Series winning Giants than by beating their fans into oblivion. Is Joe Torre still running that operation out in LA? This just has classless Yankee bullshit written all over it. If you can't beat em, beat the shit out of them. Don't try and tell me Dodger fans are just passionate either. Fans from Los Angeles suck. They show up late. Leave early. And apparantely, now, they think it's alright to kick the shit out of Giants fans just cause they can't beat them on the field. Classy LA. Real classy. We'll see your Lakers in June. Leave the handguns and brass knuckles at home though.

NCAA isn't Corrupt
Connecticut received 30 of 31 first-place votes in the final ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll, released a day after the Huskies defeated Butler to win their third NCAA championship under coach Jim Calhoun.
Ohio State, which was knocked out by eventual regional champion Kentucky in the Sweet 16, received the lone remaining first-place vote.
The 31 Division I coaches voting in the poll are not obligated to vote for the NCAA tournament champion as No. 1 on the final ballot of the season. Although the coaches' votes are public on every other poll, they are not made public for the final poll, according to policy set by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

Who the fuck didn't vote for Uconn? Like how do you vote for Ohio State, a team that got knocked out in the sweet sixteen, as the #1 team in the country? Oh that team is from the big 10? and their AD is the chair of the NCAA Selection Committee? Right...the NCAA makes sense.

Does Seeding Matter?
ESPN keeps hyping up this week as a huge week in terms of eastern conference seeding in the NBA, but I just don't buy it. Here's my thing, as long as the celtics don't have to play the heat or bulls first round, they should be fine. I'd even argue that I'd rather see the celtics as the 3 seed playing the sixers than as the 2 seed playing the knicks. I mean either way gang green is going to have to play lebron and company second round, and I feel like the celtics just match up better with the Sixers. If they were t0 play the knicks, it could be that the bright lights of scummy NY (sorry macattack) and the presence of Amare Stoudamire down low could overwhelm the underbigmaned celts. I don't feel like seeing nenad kristic getting splattered by Amare's throwdowns all for 5, 6, or even 7 games. I guess what I'm trying to say is should the celts rest their guys this week and jsut do enough to stay in third? I wouldn't be opposed, especially if we go out and demolish the sixers tonight.

Pick Me? Your Move
If a tree falls in the forest, but no one's around to hear it, does it really make a sound? If Laurence Maroney can jump through a car window, but there's no NFL season, do you still draft him in your Fantasy league? It's just too soon to tell.

Wake Up-Would You Rather
So its official. Would You Rather is a regular segment on The Scenes. I wrote and the people spoke, WYR's are what the people want. Coming at you every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
This one is BC exclusive, so for any non BC readers out there, I'm sorry but you just will never fully be able to understand this question. Would you rather have an eight man suite in Welch or a traditional double in Walsh? Now I know that neither of these options actually exist, but thats not the point of this question. The point is how much do you value lower.
For this one, I'm going with the double in Walsh, as I predict most of you will. I mean yeah doubles suck, and Walsh is the shittiest building on lower, and yeah an 8 man is the best room you can get. But the fact of the matter is lower is where its at. Closer to classes, closer to Conte, and closer to every off campus apartment/house. If these were the only factors I would take the 8 man in a heart beat. The deal breaker for me is Mcelroy. Mac is the fucking worst cafeteria I've ever eaten at. I would rather eat at the elementary school cafeteria in Billy Madison with the creepy lunch lady than at Mac. Fuck, at least they got sloppy joes.
