Anyone who goes to Boston College will tell you that Marathon Monday is the greatest day of the year. That this entire weekend, for that matter, is the most unbelievable four days a BC student can ever ask for and sure enough, it was. Looking back on what Marathon Monday provided, I don't know if I've ever experienced 12 hours of such pure excitement and happiness. You know what made yesterday special though? Yeah, it's a free for all, one day when the entire campus is united by an overwhelming sense of euphoria, but, more importantly, it's about the people you spent it with. Whether you ran the marathon yesterday, whether you simply cheered, or whether you couldn't quite handle yourself and didn't even make it to see the marathon, everybody can come to together on one thing: it's not about what you did, it's about who you did it with (get your heads out of the gutter you sick bastards). Marathon Monday is about spending the best day of the year with all of your best friends. It's a roomful of people chanting "USA, USA, USA" as the American woman made her final push, it's going into the bushes with CStokeCity (no homo), it's giving pretzels to strangers with RockDaddy, it's getting to watch your best friend from home getting down and dirty on the side walk and it's just Mucc and I being on the same page literally all the time like we've got one giant brain or something. It's a day that really makes you appreciate your mom and dad for busting their balls at all times, so that you can go to a place as unbelievable as BC. Marathon Monday was one for the ages and ten years from now I might not remember the day, but I sure won't forget the people.
