We Talkin' bout Practice?

So we caught the mouse and now everyone believes me that I'm not crazy. But I just figured out another problem we were having: Why BC's nationally televised NIT game that could be great publicity for the school, and team, and recruiting, and fans, and building a program, is being played away at McNeese St in Louisiana when we are the number 1 seed. Turns out the women's and men's hockey teams both preparing for tourney runs have practice. Makes perfect sense I mean we only got one building here at BC. Wait...No it doesn't...that makes absolutely no sense? What are talking about here...practice?! I mean the games scheduled for 9pm...none of these athletes go to class anyway, can't they have practice any time other than 9pm? I'll go down there and change the court myself if the guys are to lazy to do it. Dumb by BC, but pretty typical. Poor business move all around. I mean it's not like there are 5 thousand rinks around Newton that the men's and women's team good walk in and throw their shit down and be like "WE ARE PRACTICING HERE." If BC athletics wants people to actually care about BC Basketball, then they need to start caring.

What We Learned

As you all very well know, Mucc and I spent the last week on business in the Bahamas. You know, promoting the blog, tracking down investors, searching for potential advertising opportunities; it was all very trying and stressful, but I think it will be well worth it for the future of the Scenes. Oh, and by looking for investors and potential advertising opportunities, I mean we ate, drank and gambled and then proceeded to gamble, drink and eat (just so we're clear). In our adventures we learned a lot, however. Paradise Island is a magical place and there's nothing like a little sun and a little booze to get the mind racing. Here's what we took out of the trip:

10. The house ALWAYS wins. Unless you're Dick Mucci, in which case you ALWAYS win.
9. Every person affiliated with the University of North Carolina is an arrogant, self-centered pompous a**hole (is it still swearing on the blog if I censor it mom??)
8. Apparently I look about 12? I was carded a whopping total of 782 times this past week.
7. Every time any Boston College sports team faces the littlest bit of adversity they curl up and turn into pussy little bitches.
6. I'm allergic to rum?
5. The South should have won the war.
4. It seems as if the only type of people I can attract are middle aged Canadians? (that's both male and female...)
3. I really do love my girl.

I'm Confused

The NCAA is a joke. It's an absolute joke. See I'm not even that mad that BC didn't make the tourney, they really didn't have the end of a year that could deserve it. But to be honest the teams, and furthermore seedlings of this tournament were simply absurd. I'm listening to Gene Smith the chair of the committee explain it, and he makes no sense as well. First off, he's the AD at Ohio State...um what the fuck how can he be the chair? That's like making President Obama the UN assembly leader. Makes no sense. But beyond that he just said that head to head criteria (Alabama beats Georgia twice and Georgia gets in with a BYE!) doesn't mean that much. Wait what? So team A beats team B, but team B is still better? RIGHT!! Makes perfect sense you egotistical asshole. My other gripe is this: past experiences don't matter. Just because the CAA and CUSA were once good mid major conferences, doesn't mean that they deserve more than 1 or 2 teams in. Virginia Commonwealth is a good team do not get me rong, but Joe Lunardi even had them all the way out. Guarantee you they didn't even meet up to watch, they were ready for the NIT. Next, UAB lost in the Quarterfinals of the CUSA tournament....to east Carolina...WHAT! They weren't even the best 4 in their conference tourney...Ya i know they won the regular season but they also won by a game...one game separated the top 4. Shit is out of whack, Colorado Va Tech, and Saint Marys all deserved it over them. Hell, BC did. My last gripe is the seeding of the Big Ten teams. Illinois, Michigan State, and Michigan all had 13 or more losses yet were higher seeds than a Clemson team that was 21-10 and just almost beat the number 7 team in the land. Come on NCAA Be better. NIT selection show at 830.

We'reeeeee BAAACKKKKKK

Welcome Back folks...after a week of meendering in the heaven that is Paradise Island, the scenes are bac kto our normal regiment. Big sunday today folks with selection sunday, BC looks like they'll be on the outside looking in but hey you never know with these crazy NCAA bastards. We need Richmond and Ohio State to win...so let's go them. Anyway, big week ahead. les go.
