Someone Explain This To Me

So I'm filling out at Res Life survey as part of my punishment for a certain incident when I came across this gem. One of the possible answers for your gender is "other." What does other mean? It has to be transvestite right? But that got me wondering what exactly makes you a transvestite? Boobs and a penis is surely a tranny. But is a vagina and no boobs a tranny too? And if it is what defines no boobs? If you don't have female breasts but large male pecs are those boobs? Or if you have female breasts but they are just really small do they count? I have so many questions yet there are so few answers. Where do we draw the shemale line? A better question is how important is it that we draw this line? Or maybe the true question is why am I so curious about transvestites, but thats neither here nor there. BC would have been better off just leaving "other" out and making all the trannies that get written up just click male and female. Frankly this has brought up more questions than there are answers.

This Is It

Many of us Bruin band-wagoners and diehards alike will tell you the story: those french separatist pansies from Montreal invade our turf, demolish or dignity, and end our season in a pivotal game 7. But I got news for all those Canadians far and wide. From Newfoundland to Victoria, let it ring loud and clear that this atrocity and reign of tyranny will occur no more. Not Tonight. Not This Time.

Why Are Tests Handed Back At the End of Class?

So I just got a test back in one of my classes, and it's neither here, nor there, on how I did. Rather, what irked me about this most recent academic endeavour was the fact that after two weeks of grading this sucker, my teacher has the nerve to pull the "I'll hand these back at the end." The end of class? Really bro? This has to be one of the most annoying things teachers do. I mean, somewhere back in the ancient Egyptian schoolboy days, a myth started that if you hand a test back at the start of class then students will refuse to pay attention for the entire class. This has to be the most idiotic thing ever invented right? Student's obviously pay less attention when they don't have their tests. Since the maestro didn't hand back the test, the normal student is going to painstakingly look at that stack of exams and fail to hear audible sounds for the next 50 some odd minutes until the examination is in hand. Just simply stupid.

I say we're not gonna take it then. Come on teach, be an adult and give us the test at the start of class. Take the bombardment of whiny questions like a man. Let's be honest, we all know you just want to hand back the test after class and duck out of there without hearing any gripe. I say malarkey. I say you know what, next exam, I'm walking in and saying "I'll take this later on in the class."

Spring Game Recap

I meant to blog this last week, but since it's been so busy around here I thought it'd go up now. So last Saturday I attended the BC Spring Football game, and like a lot of spring scrimmages I thought there was some good things and some bad things:

Quarterbacks: C+. It's pretty clear that Chase Rettig is the GUY in this offense and all the other QB's have given way. Chase looked solid in the new west coast offense (20-29 182 yards) completing a lot of quick passes for pretty solid numbers, however he still struggled at times with pocket presence and wasn't great under pressure. It was also frustrating to watch him, many times, have tunnel vision throwing short when he had some combo routes wide open down field. I'd say behind Rettig the best QB was Josh Bordner (Rs. Frosh). Bordner looked solid with the offense and showed some poise in the pocket. Dave Shinskie looked solid at times as well, but once again made really poor decisions throwing under pressure, and actually completed a pass to himself. The disappointment of the day was Mike Marscovetra, who simply struggled all day throwing 2 ints and showing a real lack of comfort with the new system. Everything the qb's do is too slow at this point, and hopefully will speed up with time, but they need to be quicker with their reads and have the leadership to finish off drives.

Running Backs: B+. I was pleasantly surprised with red shirt freshmen Taij Kimble, who looked explosive and elusive, and could challenge the two injured incumbents Montel Harris and Andre Williams. Kimble looked faster than those two, and seemed to be impossible to tackle one on one. Montel carried the ball one time, but came up limping and sat the rest of day as a precautionary measure. Scout team member Mike Jivorski also looked pretty solid. The 5'7'' junior was elusive and was a great pass catcher, almost looking like Danny Woodhead out there.

Wide Receivers: B+ Injuries to Colin Larmond and Alex Amidon sidelined two guys who figure to be in the mix for the starting spots come August, but the other guys seemed to pick up the slack. Clyde Lee and Ifeanyi Momah looked rock solid starting and both had good hands and ran clean routes. With the 3 and 4 WR sets the offense also featured Bobby Swigert and Jonathan Coleman. Swigert looked pretty solid, but was lost at times and actually forced time outs twice by not knowing the calls. Coleman looked explosive, and he and other sophmore Shakim Phillips were getting open downfield quite a bit, but could not seem to get the attention of the QBs to the throw them the ball. All in all this is a deep bunch WRs that looks really improved and comfortable with the west-coast offense; but it's all for not if there's no one to throw them the ball. As for the tight ends, Lars Anderson shined and looked really athletic.

O-line: B-. The starters on the o-line looked good, and were opening up holes early for the running backs. However, they struggled a little bit with multiple blitzes and stunts on the pass rush, and did come susceptible to some serious pressure. I'm sure with more time to work together as a unit this group will gell, and with guys like Emmet Cleary and Nate Richman still leading the line they will become a polished unit. Other than the starters though, the backups and second team seemed to struggle immensely, so we best hop none of the first teamers go down this season.

Secondary: A-. This was the best group of the day. The starters of Donnie Fletcher, Jim Noel, Dominic Legrande, and Okoroa Okapara were athletic and moved well together. Not to mention all these guys help out in the run game and play downhill. I have heard some people say our secondary is a question mark, but these guys looked real good and smooth, working together. The second teamers looked solid too, and incoming freshmen recruit Albert Louis-Jean looked like a budding star, knocking running backs out, and shutting down guys from both the Corner, and Safety, positions.

Linebackers B. Eh. What was suppose to be our best group on defense looked a little slow at times. Luke Kuechly for the most part looked just OK, showing a couple flashes of why he's one of the best defensive guys in the country. Kevin Pierre Louis looked better on the day, and showed some great stuff, especially against the run. Guys like Nick Clancy, and Steele Devitto, who look to take over for Herzlich obviously have some shoes to fill but they will be up to speed come August. I'm not too worried about this group.

D-Line. B-. This group looked best from the outside in. The ends seemed to apply a lot of rush and pressure, but up the middle guys like Dillion Quinn and Conor O'neal looked like they were getting pushed around. Although, the line was missing one of their better interior guys in Kaleb Ramsey, they are going to need to make strides in order that teams don't pound the rock all over us. Guys who looked great out on the ends were incoming freshmen Medhi Ablesmad, and Kasim Edeballi.

Special Teams B. Only saw Nate Freese kick twice, nailed one, and hit the upright on the other. Not too bad should be solid again, and Saturday was a real windy crazy weather day so I'm sure he should be OK once the season is here. Ryan Quigly punted two solid 40-50 yard punts.

I Want This One

I want this one. Do I like em'? No. Do I respect em'? No. Are they friends of mine? No. If their truck broke down in the middle of a snowstorm and mine was going fine, would I help em'? No.

Other than that, I got no problem with the Montreal Canadiens.

Best Feeling in the World

It's about 70 degrees in the Bean today, and it has been warm for about 3 days now, which in New England terms could mean that spring has finally arrived. What does this mean ? Other than the ladies showing more skin (I feel you Sir Dalé), it also means one of the best activities in the world can now occur: The Baseball Catch. See, I'm a football guy through and through; I say give me the pigskin and a couple of receivers and we got ourselves a good time running routes and playing a little two-hand shove. But, even I must admit that throwing the pill around on the first beautiful day in April has to be one of the best feelings in the world. I mean it's just the sound of the birds chirping trying to find a mate and the light breeze that blows the pollin into your face and makes your eyes look as if you've smoked a brick of weed. It's the kid you're throwing with trying to do his best imitation of Timmy Wakefield and throwing you a lackluster knuckler. And yes, it's the sound of that ball as it meets the mitt so perfectly. Just pure joy. It's one of those bonds we all share that separates us from the commies in Russia, or the royalty in England: just the act of grabbin' that dirty, worn-in, glove to catch that stitched ball. It's America at its finest, right James?

Would You Rather

Would you rather only have sex one day a year, but with anyone you choose each time, or be able have sex whenever you want, but with someone who is a 5 out of 10 at best? To set the record straight, for the first option you can have sex as many times as you want in that 24 hour period, but only with the one girl or boy you choose. Secondly, no sex on any other day includes no blowjobs, no handjobs, no elbowjobs, or any jobs of the sort. Also, for those ladies out there who have been complaining that my WYRs are just for dudes here you go. This applies to both girls and guys so have some fun with it.

This one is a no brainer for me. I’m taking door number 1. It would be great to be able to have sex whenever you want, but after a while its going to get boring if the girl is never better than a 5. Plus with the first choice the possibilities are endless. Seriously, think of what you could do if you could fuck anyone you wanted. First I’m going after my main girl TSwift. I’ve had a schoolgirl crush on her since I first laid eyes on her and I have to get that out of my system. After Swift I would go through mostly actresses like Alba, Biel, Johansson, McAdams, etc. with a supermodel thrown in every now and then. Then I would start to get creative and bump uglies with the likes of Palin or Hill Dog (Hilary Clinton for those of you who don't understand) just to say I fucked them. No guy can look me straight in the face and say he has never fantasized, even just a little, about Sarah Palin. Power is sexy and thats all there is to it. With option 1 I get to bang out a good portion of my “fuck-it” list that I would never be able to get to otherwise. Despite an annual 364 day dry spell, I think that one magical day would be enough for this guy.

Once a year or whenever you want
Fuck your dream lay once a year
Sex whenever you want but with nobody above a 5
